Translation: The living water. I don't know why in particular, but more so than any other foreign language, I go in HARD for songs sung in Icelandic (evidenced by a Sigur Ros tattoo from long ago on my wrist; 'brosandi' meaning 'smiling'). I find the cadence of it so beautiful - to me it sits somewhere between the harsher Germanic sounding languages whilst retaining a romantic quality. I love it. Very pleased to have stumbled across Ásgeir, who by all accounts appears to be a bit of an Icelandic superstar. I'm not a huge fan of his more acoustic folky numbers, but this particular rendition of this particular song gives me chills.
